1997 Annual Meeting

The 1997 SWST Annual Meeting took place on Sunday, June 22, 1997 in Vancouver, B.C. at the Waterfront Centre Hotel. The technical session, titled "Distance Learning and Technology Transfer for the 21st Century", was held from 8:00 am to 10:45 am, in the Mackenzie Room. The Program and Abstracts

An Awards Presentation took place from 10:45 am to 11:45 am. Awards which were presented included:

1. Distinguished Service Award - Warren S. Thompson

2. George G. Marra Award for Excellence in Writing

   • Laurence Mott, Stephen M. Shaler, and Leslie H. Groom;
     28(4)--First Place
     
   • Greg C. Foliente, Mahendra P. Singh, and J. Daniel Dolan;
     28(1)--Second Place
     
   • Barbara L. Gartner; 28(1)--Honorable Mention
     

3. Student Poster Competition winners and participants

The Annual Business Meeting ran from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm (along with a box lunch).
