The award was established in 2021 courtesy of a $1000 donation from the 2021 First Place Marra Award winners. The idea was suggested by a team of students whose charge was to come up with ways to attract more students to SWST and the Conventions. Awards presented are 1st Place – $500, 2nd Place – $300, 3rd Place – $200. Presentations are evaluated based on the quality of the presentation and not the scientific merit of the research.
